Originally from Porto, Portugal, João obtained a B.Sc. in Informatics and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto and an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh.

Beyond academia, he has shaped transformative AI strategies, led robust data science teams, and crafted precise AI blueprints over the past six years. Before joining us, João was a Lead Data Scientist, heading up a Data Science team and working on pivotal projects ranging from semantic search and document similarity to fraud detection and recommendation systems.

When he's not working, João passionately supports FC Porto, polishes his Padel skills, and, despite having "two left feet," never shies away from a dance floor.
